ScottsdaleA care guide, in plain words

Understand the words

What are people calling a peptide?

When this comes up

A treatment page uses the word peptide as its main selling point. You still do not know the name of the medicine.

Ask for that name first. Peptide tells you what kind of substance it is. It does not tell you what sort of care is being offered.

Give the product its full name

Write down the drug name, its form, and who makes it. A form might be a tablet or an injection. Ask the person treating you which exact product the conversation is about.

Under US drug law, the word peptide alone does not establish a product's legal status, as of September 26, 2026.

Separate the terms that matter

The name Food and Drug Administration is shortened to FDA. It is the federal drug agency.

An approved medicine and a compounded medicine are different things. Compounding involves a pharmacist, doctor, or registered medicine-making business preparing a drug to fill an order.

As of September 26, 2026, FDA approval does not cover a medicine prepared to order, even when its drug ingredient is also in an approved medicine.

  • What is the exact drug name?
  • Is this an approved medicine sold ready-made, or a medicine made to order?
  • Which health concern would this treatment address?
